Coming from a background of land management and landscape photography, Ian Peill works exclusively in oils.

He combines a passion for clouds, moonscapes and skyscapes with a keen interest in ornithology, his paintings depicting birds in their naturalistic settings.

He has travelled extensively throughout the world including a study of the Aurora Borealis in Iceland and Arctic Lapland otherwise known as the Northern Lights - this surreal lightshow has inspired countless myths and legends throughout time.

A great admirer of Constable, he has made a particular study of that great artist's application of clouds and cloud effects.

Working from his Herefordshire barn studio he has exhibited both in the west of England and in Wales.
